FAQ

Does the converter account for daylight saving time?
Yes. The tool uses the Intl.DateTimeFormat API with the timeZone option, which is built into the browser and accounts for daylight saving time transitions automatically based on the specific date you enter.
Why do some timezones show different UTC offsets at different times of year?
Because of daylight saving time (DST). For example, EST is UTC-5 in winter but EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) is UTC-4 in summer. The converter always shows the correct local time for the date you specify.
What is the difference between GMT and UTC?
For practical purposes they are the same — both refer to the 0-offset reference time. Technically, UTC is the modern atomic time standard and GMT is a timezone, but they differ by less than 1 second.

The Timezone Converter lets you enter a date and time in any timezone and instantly see the equivalent time in 9 common timezones: UTC, EST (New York), CST (Chicago), PST (Los Angeles), GMT (London), CET (Paris/Berlin), IST (India), JST (Tokyo), and AEST (Sydney). Uses the browser's native Intl.DateTimeFormat API for accurate timezone handling including daylight saving time.
