FAQ

Why would I convert JPEG to PNG?
PNG is lossless, so it is preferred for images with text, sharp edges, or transparency — such as logos, screenshots, and UI assets. JPEG compression artefacts are not carried forward in the PNG output.
Will converting from JPEG to PNG improve quality?
No. The conversion does not recover detail lost during the original JPEG compression. It simply repackages the existing pixel data in a lossless container.
Will the PNG file be larger than the JPEG?
Almost always, yes. PNG is lossless and typically produces larger files than a comparable JPEG, especially for photographs.

The JPEG to PNG converter uploads a JPEG file, draws it onto an HTML canvas, and exports the result as a lossless PNG using canvas.toBlob. The tool shows original and output file sizes so you can see the size difference. PNG output supports transparency and is suitable for icons, screenshots, and design assets.
