FAQ

Which format is usually smallest?
For photographs, WebP is typically the smallest (25–35% smaller than JPEG at similar quality). For graphics with flat colours or transparency, PNG is often competitive. JPEG is the most universally supported but is rarely the smallest.
Why is JPEG quality set to 80?
Quality 80 is widely considered the sweet spot — it produces a significant size reduction compared to quality 100 with minimal visible quality loss. Most professional image pipelines use 75–85.
Can I download any of the three versions?
Yes. Each format card has a download button so you can save the version that best suits your needs.

The Image Format Comparison tool takes a single image and renders it simultaneously as JPEG (quality 80), PNG (lossless), and WebP (quality 80). The three versions are displayed side by side with their respective file sizes and compression ratios relative to the original. This helps you quickly decide which format gives the best balance of quality and file size for your use case.
